| Review: The Karate Kid |
 |
 |
|
|
| Anyone who grew up in the ’80s will know and
love Mr Miyagi and Daniel-san from the original
Karate Kid series. Now a whole new generation
is set to go on a similar journey (albeit now with
kung fu, not karate), with Jaden Smith (son of
Will) as 12-year-old Dre, who is forced to up
sticks from Detroit and relocate to Beijing with
his mum (Henson). |

| |
| Soon the target of local bullies, Dre appeals
to troubled handyman Mr Han (Chan) to teach him some
self-defence. Exciting choreography and stellar performances
confirm that The Karate Kid legacy is in good hands. |
