| After Owen Wilson’s well-publicised recent personal issues, it’s great to see him back on our screens bringing the gags – and Drillbit Taylor is full of them! When friends Wade and Ryan start high school, they’re in for a rude shock! Not helped by what could be labelled a ‘wardrobe disaster’, the boys land dead centre in the sights of the schools biggest bully. Together with another of the bully’s victims, the boys decide they need to take action if they’re going to survive. So, they place an ad for a bodyguard in Soldier of Fortune magazine and, due to budgetary limitations, they end up with down-on-his-luck Drillbit Taylor (Wilson). While Taylor’s intentions may not initially be completely pure, things do change. Produced by comedy golden boy Judd Apatow (Knocked Up) and with writing credits including Seth Rogen (Superbad) and ’80s teen film maestro John Hughes (Weird Science), Drillbit Taylor is a cut above your usual sleazy teen comedies.
