| On the streets of Los Angeles, every cop wants justice. It is how they get it that sets them apart. In Street Kings, Speed star Keanu Reeves is brilliant wearing the badge again, this time as LAPD detective Tom Ludlow, who after losing his wife a few years back has turned to alcohol to mask his wounds. Ludlow is a bit of an anti-hero, he’s the guy the captain (Forest Whitaker) calls in to ‘take out’ the garbage (and that he does – all guns a-blazing!), whether the victims open fire first or not. Following the murder of his former partner, he sets out on a quest to find the truth and solve the mystery but along the way is forced to question the loyalties of everyone involved. The production values of this film are superb – the cinematography is amazing, the music packs a punch and the action sequences are captured terrifically. Best of all, it’s great to see Reeves giving his best acting turn in years. A film that will get you talking, Street Kings is top-notch entertainment that delves into the dirty world of police corruption.
